Independent production company SideKick Productions, announces completion of their third feature film from writer and director Joshua R. Pangborn (HBO’s The Chair Company).
The Contract follows Oliver, a lonely man seeking a place to call home, as he ventures into the wilderness and the remote manor of Bartolo. Once there, Oliver is thrust into the world of a 24/7 BDSM household, complete with an alpha submissive who dislikes him from the get go. As Oliver struggles to adjust to the demands of his new potential master, he is confronted by choices he never anticipated, consequences he had never expected, and, ultimately, a decision he must make if he wants to belong.
The Contract represents the first collaboration between SideKick Productions’s Joshua R. Pangborn and Mick Kunz, award-winning cinematographer and editor on queer horror films Meat and Hollow Lake. Shot on location in Pond Eddy, NY, the film was completed in 8.5 days in February 2025, with an additional 2 days of pick ups in November of the same year.
LGBTQ+ Representation
The Contract features an all-LGBTQ+ cast of performers, as well as original songs from queer rappers Chris Conde and Bryce Quartz. Many positions on the crew were filled by queer people as well, including Assistant Director, Dhafir, and our Special FX team, Paul Antzoulis and Yuhas.
