Content: The Lo-Fi Man (HollyShorts Film Festival 2023) review

Anyone who has seen or read about Tetsuo: The Iron knows that it is a complex film.

Here we have a director who is looking to discuss this bizarre body horror feature, but not everything is as it seems.

When we start flipping from different types of ‘content creators’; you get the vibe that maybe the iron man is controlling the airwaves.

Brian Lonano’s short feels like a commentary on the gig economy of the film industry, and given so much of the industry is on strike right now, it rings extra true.

The script is razor-sharp and gives what could be a hokey concept and gives it a post-apocalyptic vibe.

One reference point which sprang to mind was Ready Player One, but a more streamlined version based on filmmaking rather than popular culture.

B movie enthusiasts and frustrated indie filmmakers will lap this up.
