10/31/85 review

Coming from indie filmmaker Rene Rivas, we have micro short film 10/31/85.

Rivas will be known to some genre fans for the well put together short The Spirit of Haddonfield, a Halloween fan film.

On a chilly Halloween night in 1985, 3 teenagers happen upon the unfortunate antics of a crazed serial killer named Mr. Trick.

Rvias himself portrays the villainous Mr. Trick, and right from the outset we can expect blood as our killer washes blood off a sickle.

Despite its limited run-time, this micro-short boasts some gory practical effects all with that 80s grainy effect which is very en-vogue at the moment.

Using a very twisted sense of humour, Rivas proves that kids will do anything for sweets on Halloween, no matter who is handing them out.

Look out for 10/31/85 across the festival circuit soon.
