Monster House meets Get Out in The Gaze of the House

A LGBTQ+ suspense/comedy short film, The Gaze of the House is now crowdfunding on Indie GoGo.

While visiting their partner’s parents for the first time, a young adult realizes something in the house is homophobic, pissed off, and wants her gone.

Director Karl Vedeau commented,

“I wanted to write a story about meeting parents for the first time from the perspective of a queer couple. There are always anxieties around it, and there’s always a fear of rejection. I think telling LGBTQ+ stories is important and I love the mishmash of horror and comedy. At its core, it’s a family drama about acceptance but told through my personality.

“Last winter I met my partner’s parents for the first time in the house that they grew up in, and although it may not have played out so dramatically, I did feel fascinated. By meeting his parents and being in his childhood room I began to understand him a lot more as a person. What if we had not been accepted? And what if there was someone still around who was pissed off and homophobic?”
