The Cellar (Grimmfest Easter) review

Grimmfest managed to get this effective chiller just in time for its premiere on Shudder this week.

The Cellar follows an Irish family who moves into a large mansion and discovers it has some dark secrets waiting for them.

As with all these sorts of films, we build up and things just get worse and worse for them when the daughter mysteriously goes missing.

You may feel like you know where the plot is going but think again The Cellar has plenty of tricks up its sleeve and turns into such an expansive and original concept you can’t deny its power.

It makes a bold choice and is backed up with superb production value to make it one of the stand out films of the year so far.

The Cellar plays as part of Grimmfest Easter 2022.
