Independent vampire horror short House of the Hunters is now crowdfunding on IndieGoGo.
Julian is a desperate down-and-out young man on the verge of being evicted from his apartment. When a strange man offers him a job, killing vampires, he laughs and reluctantly accepts.
When Julian and his partner arrive at a house in a small, secluded town to do the job, Julian gets more than he bargained for when he realizes that vampires may exist.
Director James Naunton said:
House of the Hunters Is a stripped-down version of a story I’ve had floating through my head for years. I’ve had a passion for monster movies since I was a little kid, reading my dad’s Fangoria horror magazines at far too young an age. After high school I pursued acting, starring in several short films while my interest in directing and telling my own stories began to grow.
I’ve always wanted to make a film utilizing practical makeup and effects just like my favourite horror films of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Effects that don’t need to look expensive and modern, just visceral, and real. My goal is to create an over-the-top, almost comic book-style film, utilizing strange, colourful lighting to emphasize the mood. Despite the subject matter, I would say this is just as much a comedy as it is a horror. The character of Julian is someone most people can relate to, our eyes into this crazy world, but everyone else is bizarre if not downright mad.
House of the Hunters will be a fast-paced thrill ride, putting the audience on edge while also bringing the laughs.”
