For animal attack film enthusiasts, the story of Grizzly II has become a legend.
Having said this, we have never heard completely, what really happened with this film, which was set for release in 1983, and is now only going to see the light of day 37 years later.
Hungarian producer Suzanne C. Nagy has put together this insightful account of the nucleus, production, shutdown and resurrection of the project.
Although at times slightly rushed with the odd grammatical error, this is a truly engrossing read which at a shade over 100 pages, makes a quick read.
We get insights on notorious producer Joseph Ford Proctor, who overspent on the budget of the film and disappeared, never to be seen again after filming collapsed.
Grizzly II also has a stellar cast with names such as George Clooney, Laura Dern, Charlie Sheen, John Rhys-Davies and Charles Cyphers all involved.
It will be fascinating to see how the newly remastered Grizzly II, coupled with new footage looks when it hits DVD and Blu Ray later this year. For starters, Swimming with Sharks is the perfect appetizer for the main course.
