David Fincher’s Mindhunter returns to Netflix tomorrow with a brand new set of serial killers for Holden and Tench to deal with.
Here are some of the new faces we can expect to see –
Wayne Williams – Williams committed at least two dozen murders between 1979 and 1981. He was reprimanded in 1982 after fibres of his home and car were found on some of the victims.
The BTK Strangler – Real name Dennis Rader was featured in the background of the first season of Mindhunter. Rader committed 10 murders in Kansas between 1974 and 1991 with victims ranging from 9 and 62
Charles Manson – Manson recently featured in Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood plus the recent Matt Smith film Charlie Says. Holden stated throughout Season 1 that he wanted to interview Manson and it looks like he will get his chance in Season 2. Manson and his followers were arrested in 1969 and after a seven-month trial, he was found guilty in January 1971. Manson died in prison in 2017.
Son of Sam – The Son of Sam killer David Berkowitz was also mentioned during the first season of Mindhunter and has been glimpsed in the Season 2 trailer. Berkowitz shot 13 people over the course of a year starting July 1976, with 7 dying and six being injured.
Berkowitz was arrested on 10th August 1977 and he confessed the next day to Police. He is currently serving 25 years to a life sentence in New York.
