When it comes to horror, nostalgia is one of the things that always gets fans tails wagging.
So the widest smile came yesterday when it was announced that Robert Englund would don the iconic burnt face of Freddy Krueger for The Goldbergs Halloween special.
With Michael Myers back on the big screen next month, it seems almost poetic that Krueger makes a comeback of sorts.
Lest we forget the 80s was Freddy’s domain becoming a pop culture icon which spawned 5 films, a TV series and countless merchandise at the time.
With Blumhouse’s Halloween projected to make a decent box office return a comeback from Krueger seems ever likely.
Could a 35 years later (in 2019) approach work for the Nightmare series and reunite Englund and Heather Langenkamp one last time?
At the age of 71 Robert Englund may not be as keen as to go through the makeup effects again, but the concept is fascinating on its own.
Would you like to see classic Freddy one more time?
