British post-apocalyptic feature N.E.S.T. Project opens door to planned eight-film universe

A British independent production is building a post-apocalyptic world intended to unfold across eight interconnected feature films. The Eight Saga: N.E.S.T. Project, produced by Ember Production Limited, is the first chapter of that larger creative vision.

The saga is conceived as a continuing narrative rather than a collection of unrelated films. Its opening feature introduces a civilisation struggling to rebuild following a devastating solar event, with rival groups, competing beliefs and the search for freedom shaping the world beyond the first film. The seven subsequent features remain part of the production company’s long-term plans.

At the centre of N.E.S.T. Project is a fortified city divided into three social tiers. Residents are promised order and protection, but the authorities’ guiding words — “Track • Report • Resolve” — hint at a system built around observation and control. Religious influence, political power and resistance collide in a story that blends dystopian science fiction, post-apocalyptic survival and darker genre elements.

The feature has been brought to life through an extensive network of independent cast, crew and volunteers, with scenes filmed in Cumbria and other locations across the UK. Production is approaching its final stages, with the filmmakers preparing for a planned international festival campaign in 2027.

On Saturday 7 November 2026, the team plans to present the film’s new trailer at a fundraising event at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa, near Chester. The event will give supporters a closer look at the project and its ambition to build a connected, original British screen universe.

N.E.S.T. Project is the first film currently being produced within The Eight Saga. The wider eight-film story is a planned creative slate; further production schedules and financing have not been announced.
