UK release confirmed for Children of the Wicker Man

Children Of The Wicker Man is a powerful, personal account by Dominic and the late Justin Hardy about their father Robin Hardy and the making of his cult folk horror film The Wicker Man. Following a successful run on the international festival circuits, the film now receives its theatrical release exclusively in UK cinemas.

Following the sudden passing of director Justin Hardy, Children Of The Wicker Man screenings will be presented with an introduction and Q&A by the producer, Dr Christopher Nunn.

Regarded as one of the greatest British films of all time. The Wicker Man (1973) was directed by Robin Hardy and written Anthony Shaffer (Sleuth, Frenzy). Its lead actor Christopher Lee, considered it to be his best film and called it “one of the most remarkable films ever made.”  Fifty years after the film first shocked cinemagoers around the world, two brothers Justin and Dominic Hardy discovered in hidden in the attic of the former family home six sacks of documents from the filming of The Wicker Man. These included scripts, personal letters, on-set photos, and storyboards.

Children of the Wicker Man follows the journey of the brothers as they research the making and legacy of their father Robin Hardy’s 1974 movie, which according to the brothers, destroyed their family.

Justin Hardy directed his final film, Wrath of the Gods, co-written by Dominic, which was screened posthumously at the world premiere at this year’s Tubi FrightFest.#
