From the Webby-honoured creators of “The Call of the Void” comes a high-stakes story of survival and identity at the end of the world.
Award-winning audio studio Acorn Arts & Entertainment officially announced its next original audio drama, AMARYLLIS, starring Mabel Thomas (SCARPETTA, DEAD DAD GIRL), Liam Meister (BRIARWOOD), and Daniel Roebuck (THE FUGITIVE, AGENT CODY BANKS).
Set in a small town on the brink of collapse, AMARYLLIS follows a young insurrectionist as she struggles to find her way home at the end of the world. The upcoming 9-episode scripted series extends the studio’s expanding “Voidverse” narrative universe, already known for crafting intricate soundscapes and dark, character-driven narratives.
Writer/director Josie Eli Herman promises AMARYLLIS will deliver the studio’s most cinematic production to date. “At its core, the story is about humanity and connection between enemies. While it’s a colourful kaleidoscope of action, intrigue, and sci-fi elements, we’re most excited about sharing these complex and fascinating characters, and how they affect and change each other. It’s a story about finding home and family in the most unlikely places.”
Writer/producer Michael Alan Herman adds, “Who will you be at the end of the world? It’s a question that cuts right to the heart of a character and reveals exactly who we are. We were surprised and delighted by the answers our characters gave to this question, and we can’t wait to share their wild character arcs in this series.”
Featuring dynamic audio design, original compositions, and rich ambient Foley effects built to place listeners directly into the centre of the action, the series will be released across all major podcast platforms this winter, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and anywhere else podcasts can be found.
Superfans and supporters can gain access to exclusive bonus content, behind-the-scenes recordings, and early production updates through the studio’s website.
