Subterranean Sound & Vision has released the new official trailer for HOLLER, an independent feature currently in production in Illinois.
Written and directed by Devin Smock and Samuel David, HOLLER follows Ray Holley, a self-destructive loner, and Sydney, a pregnant young woman, as they make their way across a collapsing rural Midwest. The dead are part of the world, but the film stays focused on Ray and Sydney and the uneasy relationship that develops between them.
HOLLER is being made as a regional American independent film first and a post-apocalyptic film second. Rural Illinois locations, empty roads, small towns, and worn Midwestern landscapes are a major part of its look. The filmmakers describe the movie as Midwestern Gothic, with addiction, regret, parenthood, faith, and survival running through the story.
The feature is still in production. The new trailer offers the first extended look at the film and is available to watch below –
