Ignite Films announces host of 2027 releases

Ignite Films has assembled an upcoming 2027 slate of cult horror and genre titles set for 4K restoration, headlined by Brian Yuzna’s body horror classic Society and the legendary horror sci-fi Horror Express.

Additional 4K transfers in development include the notorious killer-kids slasher Bloody Birthday and the deeply unsettling cult shocker The Baby.

First up is Societywhich is targeted for release in early 2027, announced Jan Willem Bosman Jansen of Ignite Films and Jim Quan of Eagle Rock Pictures from the Fantastic Pavilion at the Marché du Film in Cannes.

“It’s incredibly exciting to continue building our release slate with films from the libraries of Ignite Films and Eagle Rock Pictures, and in just two short years, we’re grateful to have received multiple Saturn Award nominations and wins. Here at the Marché, we’re looking forward to discovering exciting new library titles from around the world,” said Jan Willem Bosman Jansen of Ignite Films.

Ignite’s acclaimed Re-Animator 40th Anniversary 4K release recently received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Classic Film Home Media Release. In June 2026, Ignite Films will release Bride of Re-Animator in 4K, with pre-orders open now at the Ignite Films website.

Ignite Films’ latest release, the 70th Anniversary 4K Restoration of a cornerstone of American film noir, The Big Combo, remains one of the genre’s most visually striking and uncompromising works. Directed by Joseph H. Lewis (Gun Crazy), the film follows obsessive police lieutenant Leonard Diamond (Cornel Wilde) as he wages a personal crusade against the elusive and sadistic crime boss Mr Brown (Richard Conte).
