Uncork’d Entertainment is proud to announce the digital and streaming premiere of BLACKOUT, a chilling exploration of a world without light, arriving May 5th.
Directed by visionary filmmaker Shane Aquino, BLACKOUT depicts a sudden, global power outage that transcends a simple technical failure. Humanity awakens to find the sun has vanished, replaced by a world smothered in perpetual, suffocating darkness. In this new era, survivors find themselves trapped in isolated, distorted versions of their own reality.
As the world unravels, survivors are hunted by “The Ushers”—enigmatic and terrifying entities who haunt the living and promise a path toward a final, irreversible choice. The film blends high-concept sci-fi with psychological horror to ask what remains of us when the lights go out forever.
The film stars veteran actor Mike Ferguson, who delivers a deeply grounded performance amidst the supernatural chaos. For Ferguson, the film’s stakes are as much emotional as they are metaphysical.
“BLACKOUT for me is about how we take the ones closest to us for granted,” said Ferguson. “It’s very personal, and I believe other people will really relate to that struggle of realizing what matters most only when everything else is stripped away.”
BLACKOUT will be available on all major streaming and VOD platforms via Uncork’d Entertainment beginning May 5th.
