I have to admit I’m a person who is concerned about inheriting items or housing from relatives.
It’s mainly in case I acquire a haunted item, and it all goes a bit Conjuring.
In Dana Berry and Nicholas Berger’s short The Little Curse, we follow a couple who inherit an old home from an eccentric aunt, and upon visiting discover a trunk in the basement…
Against their better judgement they start to snoop around and get more than was stated in the Will.
The script is very self-aware with references to Creepshow and Friday the 13th, and the small cast do a serviceable job.
The Little Curse has a slow burn quality to it, not cheapening its act with jump scares, and looks to build up tension until it shifts gear.
A sinister supernatural tale.
The Little Curse screens as part of Panic Fest 2024.
