KHAOS review

Space missions although a quest into the unknown must always hold an air of fascination and curiosity.

Having said this, astronauts are always running the risk of exploring a planet such as the one in KHAOS.

Directed by Ivan Dimitrov, this black and white, grainy short tells the story of an explorer who gets more than their bargained for on a routine mission.

Dimitrov sprinkles in weird and wonderful imagery to create an imbalance in the viewer, in what could simply be mind tricks to the astronaut.

I am putting KHAOS into the experimental sub-genre with a style that recalls vintage David Lynch.

These are the negatives of space travel encapsulated into 5 minutes.

KHAOS screens as part of Giallo Film Festival 2024.
