Splinter review

I must admit the only thing off about Marc Bernardin’s short thriller Splinter, is the setting of inside an aeroplane.

We follow a 10-year-old, Benjamin, who is seemingly being pampered, but is this an actual flight or a sanctuary against outside sinister forces?

Although isolated, Benjamin appears quite pampered with everything he wants at the drop of a hat.

Splinter is a slow-burn thriller with ambitious plans within its plot, and instead of being a spectacle, it escalates matters through characterisation instead.

Having said this, in the final act, all hell breaks loose and things just get wild and it’s glorious!
