Halloween Stalks (fan film) review

You may have thought Halloween had ended last October, but the Shape seemingly lives on in new fan film Halloween Stalks.

Its unclear where this tale takes place in the many mythos’ of Halloween, but the rather simple 14 minute tale sees Michael Myers terrorise a couple on Halloween night in a nearby town in Illinois.

In terms of positives, the film has excellent production value and a nice reworking of the classic score plus the Shape’s mask is a nice throwback to 1978.

Having said this, the film lacks any real tension and feels like it goes through the tick box of Halloween plus both deaths in the film occur off-screen. While you could argue that less is more, the fact we see absolutely nothing robs us of any type of scares.

A polished but not essential effort.
