There’s no relationship quite like a boy and his dog.
In John Vassallo’s animated short Lake Erie, we take this to a new extreme when a young boy’s dog goes missing.
As in every horror film, dogs are always the first to sense danger, but here Mollie charges straight towards and into a potentially haunted lake house that Ben must navigate to get her back.
Lake Erie is a perfect gateway horror relying on established tropes whilst playing it safe enough to play to a wider audience.
At a brisk 8 minutes, this is a fairly inoffensive watch that offers some superb visuals.
Lake Erie plays as part of Soho Horror Film Festival 2022.
