Cult Hero (Grimmfest 2022) review

Cult Hero feels like if something like Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires was live action.

Right from the outset we have our ‘hero’ Dale Domazar, an obnoxious and gun toting hero taking down a cult ceremony.

Fast forward in time as Dale has been cancelled, figuratively and actually, from his own show, but he gets a shot at redemption when a woman contacts him to help get her husband out of a cult masquerading as a mental health retreat.

It got to be better than doing cameo birthday greetings, right?

Despite being mostly an oddball comedy, Cult Hero really showcases the narcissism involved in cults and their leaders.

It is extremely gory, but it almost feels like slapstick gore rather than some of the films we will cover during the rest of this festival.

Cult Hero seems destined for cult status and will certainly draw crowds.

Cult Hero plays as part of Grimmfest 2022.
