Bottom review (Soho Horror Film Festival: Pride Edition)

While we now have quite a saturated market when it comes to the perils of online hookups, none in recent memory are quite like Bottom.

This is the latest short from writer/director William Lott, who has previously had films screened on these shores, such as What’s in the Box?

Here we follow Morgan as he arranges to meet with a ‘Mr Handsome’, whilst being warned about making a mess by his roommate.

While I won’t give away the twist, Bottom goes to an unexpected place and offers something gruesome and original and could certainly have some readers questioning online dating any time soon.

Lott has clearly seen plenty of body horror, but Bottom is more a satirical dive into that area and it revels in its almost B movie status.

Bottom screened as part of the Soho Horror Film Festival: Pride Edition.
