Bloody Flicks Awards Statement

We are sad to announce that the Bloody Flicks Awards 2022, will not take place on Saturday 26th February 2022.

Earlier this year the horror and genre film festival went digital using the FestHome platform and screened genre feature Get The Hell Out plus 20 short films from all over the world.

Previously a live event took place at The Boiler Works in Stoke on Trent in February 2020, just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold of the world.

Paul Downey, Festival Director commented,

“Its genuinely a heartbreaking decision to have to cancel the 2022 Bloody Flicks Awards event. Ever since the festival launched in 2019 the response from filmmakers and horror fans has been incredible.

“Sadly, being a one-man band and trying to juggle the festival with a full time job and other side projects has proved increasingly difficult and something had to give. I hope this isn’t the last we hear of the Bloody Flicks Awards, with my intention for the festival to come back at some stage in the future.

“I would personally like to thank everyone who has supported the Bloody Flicks Awards and made it what it was.”
