This novella from author Lucas Pederson mixes rogue western sensibilities with some bonkers dinosaur action.
The writer does a good job building up our main protagonist The Bounty Hunter, who roams the lands and tries to scramble enough money to survive but also get out of his line of work and get back to his family. It may be a well worn trope but he is given enough layers to make him an intriguing character.
This plot motif is flipped on its head when he stumbles upon a ‘lost world’ where dinosaurs are once again the dominant species. I compare the Bounty Hunter’s sensibilities to Muldoon from Jurassic Park but he is definitely a better shot.
A short, sharp read that doesn’t outstay its welcome and packs plenty of action into its pages.
