Queer vampire horror romcom Livin’ After Midnight is now crowdfunding on IndieGoGo.
The short film follows two queer vampires who navigate the possibility of a relationship after accidentally hunting each other under the guise of a blind date. The short examines queer relationships and identities through the lens of the horror comedy genre and the figure of the vampire. Queer performers will be cast exclusively for the two leads. Robyn, who is non-binary, will be played by a non-binary performer. We want performers who can bring authenticity to the roles.
The project is written and produced by Brant Lewis. Their most recent project, a horror short entitled Deliver Me from Evil, has been accepted by Asylum Horror Show and Austin After Dark while being a semi-finalist for best student short at Indie Short Fest. In addition, they are one of the producers for the award-winning horror comedy short Door to Door.
Tom von Dohlen is the award winning director and special effects artist for the film. Door to Door, a horror comedy he wrote and directed, won Best Student Dark Comedy and was an honorable mention for special effects at Indie Short Fest while winning best crime at Blood Horror Fest. It has also been accepted by Asylum Horror Show, Austin After Dark, Kalakari Film Festival.
