For our latest Horror Through My Eyes feature, we are joined by Art the Clown himself, David Howard Thornton to discuss the films that have shaped his acting career so far –

The Horror Film That Makes You Sick – Hostel. It was just gross at times, especially that bit with the eyeball.

The horror film that scares you the most – Paranormal Activity. I’ve dealt with a lot of weird hauntings in places that I have lived.

The Horror film you can only watch alone – Get Out

That horror film you own but secretly hate – I don’t own anything I hate.

Your horror guilty pleasure – Killer Klowns from Outer Space

That horror film with a better cast than its script – Hereditary

The horror film you have rewatched the most – Terrifier. LOL! Other than that, Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre

That horror film you have owned on VHS, DVD and Blu Ray – Terrifier. I literally have that on all 3.

Your scariest cinematic experience – Blair Witch Project. I had been working at a camp in the woods all summer so that was close to home.

That horror film you need a shower after watching – Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The horror film that made your jaw hit the floor – The Mist. THAT ENDING!

A horror film you used to love but now despise – There isn’t one.

On the flip side, a horror film you despised but now love – Midsommar grew on me

The horror film you laughed the most at that isn’t a comedy – The Babysitter. I found it genuinely funny in a good way. Troll 2 I found genuinely funny in a bad way.

What is the craziest practical effect you have seen in a horror film – The transformation in American Werewolf in London. By far the most amazing practical effect ever done on screen.

The film that you introduced family or a friend to that you wished you hadn’t – Probably Terrifier. My family looks at me differently now, especially after that Buffalo Bill scene.

Look out for news on Art the Clown’s return in Terrifier 2, set for release in 2021.
