Variety reports that Breakfast Club star Anthony Michael Hall has joined the cast of Halloween Kills as Tommy Doyle.
Kills is the follow up to David Gordon Green’s Halloween (2018) with Doyle rejoining the franchise for the first time since 1995’s Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers.
This, of course, was a separate timeline with the role played by Paul Rudd in his first acting role. In the 1978 original Tommy Doyle was played by Brian Andrews.
Hall will be joined by Jamie Lee Curtis, returning as Laurie Strode with Judy Greer and Andi Matichak expected to rejoin the cast as her daughter and granddaughter respectively.
There have been plenty of rumours of Doyle’s return in the Halloween fan community with Charles Cyphers also rumoured to be coming back as Sheriff Brackett. It will certainly be interesting to see what type of role Doyle plays in the new sequel, having also survived that fateful night in 1978 alongside Lindsey Wallace, who was also being babysat by Laurie Strode.
Brackett worked alongside Dr Loomis in the original film to find Michael Myers whilst his daughter ended up as one of the Shape’s victims.
Hall’s other credits include roles in The Dark Knight, Edward Scissorhands, Weird Science and Foxcatcher.
Halloween Kills is set for release on 16th October 2020 with filming set to begin next month.
