The Meg 2 is in early development stages its been announced.
The adaptation of Steve Alten’s supersized shark thriller was 20 years in development hell before hitting cinemas earlier this year, grossing over $500 million at the worldwide box office.
Fronted by action star Jason Statham, The Meg saw marine biologist Jonas Taylor battle against a pre-historic megalodon released from an underwater trench to wreak havoc.
Producer Catherine Xujun Ying revealed to The Meg 2 is in the works, saying,
“That is definitely the plan, it’s still in the very early stages, but we’re working on it. We’re trying to keep it secret at this time.”
