Lifechanger review

Lifechanger

After wowing audiences at film festivals earlier this year, Justin McConnell’s Lifechanger is certainly an interesting yarn.

We see things through the eyes of a shapeshifter who needs to keep shifting bodies to survive.

It’s part body horror but in turn part love story as the unseen man (we assume) yearns for a lost love of yesteryear.

This gives his quest pathos but also slightly dilutes the threat as we kind of know the purpose.

The finale provides a further plot thread which will either completely sell it for you or make you wish you hadn’t bothered.

Lifechanger will no doubt polarise future audiences but with its excellent practical effects and original story it could be one to look back on fondly in future years.
