Alive (2018) review

Before you say, this isn’t a remake of that film where the football players eat each other.

Rob Grant’s second feature, which had its UK premiere at Grimmfest 2018 is an intriguing mystery which relies on the performances of its three characters to ensure it packs a whollop late on.

At first you may feel like you’re watching a lost Saw sequel as an unknown man and woman wake up strapped to hospital beds not knowing who they are or how they got there.

They are being treated by a very eccentric doctor, whose agenda remains foggy.

Alive is then like peeling an onion as their plight only gets worse.

This is original and gripping horror of the highest order and not for the squeamish.
