Breaking Glass Pictures is set to release Love Trap, a gripping new drama from writer-director Tiana Woods, on April 7, 2026. Adapted from the celebrated novel, the film examines the hidden struggles that can exist beneath the surface of marriage, inviting audiences to consider the balance between loyalty, desire, and self-discovery.
The story follows Stacy, a devoted wife and mother, whose picture-perfect life starts to feel confining. Beneath her stable marriage lies a sense of emotional isolation, a growing awareness that she has lost touch with her own needs. When Stacy meets Travis, a magnetic stranger, she is confronted with a difficult choice: cling to the comfort of the familiar or embrace the uncertainty of something new.
“Love Trap was inspired by my own experiences and conversations I kept hearing from women who had everything ‘right’ on paper but still felt emotionally unseen,” Woods explains. “We’re watching people celebrate ‘relationship goals’ on social media while privately questioning their own fulfillment. I wanted to explore that quiet conflict: the part people don’t post.”
The film delves into the subtle ways a relationship can erode autonomy without obvious signs of conflict.
“Love Trap is a story about how love, ego, and one wrong decision can change everything, so think before you act. It pulls audiences into the emotional reality of relationships, how one may view love and shows how easily people can become trapped in situations they never intended to be in. Love Trap stands out because it goes beyond the screen. It’s a full universe — a book series, a film, and a soundtrack — all telling the same powerful story from different angles.” Woods Adds.
Jennifer Franklin delivers a powerful performance as Stacy, capturing her journey from quiet disconnection to a search for self-fulfillment. Woods adds, “It stopped being, ‘Who will she choose?’ and became, ‘Will she choose herself?’ The real tension is about identity; remembering who you were before expectations shaped you.”
Kevin, Stacy’s husband, is played by Brian Creary. Woods notes, “Kevin represents traditional masculinity shaped by responsibility. He equates love with duty, and that disconnect is often where relationships quietly fracture.”
As Travis, Meco Hendrickson brings allure and uncertainty to the role. Woods reflects, “Travis needed to feel magnetic, but not like a savior. Sometimes ‘new’ feels liberating simply because it’s unfamiliar. I wanted audiences questioning whether what Stacy feels is freedom — or escape.”
The film transforms the internal conflict of the novel into a visual language, using framing, lighting, and subtle spatial cues to convey the emotional distance between characters.
“With its layered performances and emotional honesty, Love Trap invites audiences to pause and reflect,” says Richard Wolff, CEO of Breaking Glass Pictures. “The film reminds us how a single decision can reshape a life.”
“I want people to reconsider what the word love really means,” Woods emphasizes. “Are we loving intentionally, or reacting to unmet needs? Pain can feel like clarity in the moment, but wisdom is quieter. Sometimes we make permanent decisions based on temporary emotions and that’s where real damage happens.”
Love Trap will stream on all major platforms beginning April 7, 2026.
