Arrow announces April 2026 releases

This April, Arrow Video proudly presents action maestro John Woo’s The Killer on Limited Edition 4K UHD and Limited Edition Blu-ray.

Fresh from the success of the first two A Better Tomorrow films, in 1989 Woo would unleash this a spectacular blend of explosive gunfights and dramatic performances, including the magnetic Chow Yun-Fat in one of his most memorable roles. An international sensation, The Killer put Woo on the radar of genre fans the world over and inspired waves of imitators, but none that could outclass it. This incredible three-disc edition includes a brand new John Woo commentary and interview, deleted scenes, a new feature length documentary on Woo’s career, the 130-minute Taiwan Extended Cut of the film and much more, and comes with a reversible sleeve, a double-sided foldout poster, a perfect bound collectors’ booklet and six postcard-sized artcards.

Next in April, The Day of the Locust on Limited Edition Blu-ray. Academy Award-winner John Schlesinger (Marathon Man) reunites with Midnight Cowboy screenwriter Waldo Salt (Coming Home), a victim of the 1950s McCarthy-era blacklist, to adapt Nathanael West’s acid satire of Hollywood decadence and broken dreams, starring William Atherton (Looking For Mr. Goodbar), Karen Black (Five Easy Pieces), Bo Hopkins (American Graffiti) and Donald Sutherland (Invasion of the Body Snatchers), as well as memorable turns from Watchmen star Jackie Earle Hayley and Burgess Meredith (Rocky). A bitter critique of tinsel-town’s empty promises and the lost souls cheated by them, featuring lush, dreamlike cinematography by Conrad Hall (In Cold Blood), and stunning performances by its talented cast, The Day of the Locust remains a relevant and shattering experience. The Blu-ray features a 2K remaster from Arrow Films, an oral history commentary track, a new appreciation and visual essays, and comes with a reversible sleeve and collectors’ booklet.

Next in April, stand to attention for Soldier on Limited Edition 4K UHD. Following the one-two punch of Mortal Kombat and Event Horizon, director Paul W.S. Anderson would team up with iconic action star Kurt Russell (Escape from New York) and scriptwriter David Webb Peoples (Blade Runner, Unforgiven) for the thrilling sci-fi adventure Soldier. Packed with spectacular special effects and gripping action setpieces, Soldier is an underseen gem that demands rediscovery with this brand new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray edition, packed with new extras, a reversible sleeve and collector’s booklet.

Then in April, Wandering Ginza Butterfly Collection on Limited Edition Blu-ray. On the same year that she defined the action heroine with her role in the Female Prisoner Scorpion series, Japanese screen legend Meiko Kaji teamed up with future Sister Street Fighter director Kazuhiko Yamaguchi for a diptych of gambling, deception and violence set on the mean streets of 1970s’ Tokyo: Wandering Ginza Butterfly and its sequel She Cat Gambler! Meiko Kaji is magnetic as the steely and righteous Nami, whose foray into Tokyo’s sordid back alleys is brought to life by Yamaguchi’s energetic direction in this electric spectacle of 1970s Japanese crime cinema. The Blu-ray includes brand new and archival commentaries and interviews, a reversible sleeve featuring new artwork for both films by Andy Bourne, and a collectors’ booklet featuring new writing on the films by Asian cinema expert Camille Zaurin.

Also in April, the chilling and poignant The Eye on Limited Edition 4K UHD. Following their explosive debut Bangkok Dangerous, directorial duo the Pang Brothers would catch the attention of acclaimed producer Peter Ho-Sun Chan, and the three would collaborate on one of the most memorable horror films to come out of Hong Kong, The Eye. Perfectly balancing otherworldly scares with psychological terror, The Eye is a compelling tale of a woman realizing the world around her is more terrifying than she ever knew, memorably carried by Angelica Lee’s award-winning performance. With a brand new 4K restoration, brand new interviews and visual essays, it’s time to see The Eye as you’ve never seen it before.

Finally in April, from director Joe Dante (Gremlins, The ‘Burbs) and producer Steven Spielberg (Poltergeist, Back to the Future) comes Innerspace on Limited Edition 4K UHD and Limited Edition Blu-ray – an action-comedy adventure that will turn your world inside out! Starring Dennis Quaid (The Substance), Martin Short (Three Amigos), and Meg Ryan (When Harry Met Sally), with Dante’s unique mix of wit, charm and screwball action, as well as extraordinary Oscar-winning visual effects, Innerspace is a beloved classic of 80s cinema that remains as funny and exciting as ever in this brand new 4K restoration. Extras include a Dante audio commentary, a brand new hour-long documentary, previously unseen behind the scenes footage as well as a poster, reversible sleeve and collectors’ perfect-bound booklet.
