Nominations Announced for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards

BAFTA today announces the nominations for the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, celebrating the very best in film over the past year. A total of 46 films received nominations today.

The 11 films with the most nominations are:

·      14 nominations for One Battle After Another

·      13 nominations for Sinners

·      11 nominations for Hamnet and Marty Supreme

·       Eight nominations for Frankenstein and Sentimental Value

·       Five nominations for I Swear and Bugonia

·      Three nominations for The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion and F1

The following films also nominated include:

·       Two nominations for The Secret Agent, Wicked: For Good and Zootropolis 2

·       One nomination for each of the following: 2000 Meters To Andriivka, 28 Years Later, Apocalypse In The Tropics, Arco, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Blue Moon, Boong, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, The Ceremony, Cover-Up, Die My Love, Elio, H is for Hawk, A House of Dynamite, How to Train Your Dragon, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, It Was Just an Accident, Lilo & Stitch, Little Amélie, The Lost Bus, Mr Burton, Mr. Nobody Against Putin, My Father’s Shadow, The Perfect Neighbor, Sirāt, Song Sung Blue, Steve, Train Dreams, The Voice of Hind Rajab, A Want in Her, Warfare and Wasteman

First time nominees in the performance categories who have received their first BAFTA Film nomination are; Robert Aramayo, Odessa A’zion, Rose Byrne, Chase Infiniti, Michael B. Jordan, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsgård, and Teyana Taylor.

Six former and current EE Rising Stars are nominated – Robert Aramayo, Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, Jacob Elordi, Chase Infiniti and Carey Mulligan.  

In the Best Director category, two of the six directors are first-time nominees – Ryan Coogler and Josh Safdie.

Three BAFTA Breakthroughs are nominated: Jessie Buckley, Akinola Davies Jr. and Chase Infiniti.

The nominees for the EE Rising Star Award were announced on 14 January as Archie Madekwe, Chase Infiniti, Miles Caton, Posy Sterling and Robert Aramayo. It is the only award voted for by the British public and it is presented annually to a performer who has demonstrated exceptional talent early in their careers.  Voting is now open on the BAFTA website.
