A Kickstarter campaign has been launched for Hot Spring Shark Attack 2.
In this sequel, the story expands across the entire “KYUSHU” region, delivering even bigger TOKUSATSU action alongside a moving narrative set against the rich backdrop of hot spring culture.
Filming took place in Atami City (Shizuoka Prefecture), Oguni Town (Kumamoto Prefecture), and Sukagawa City (Fukushima Prefecture), with the goal of pioneering a new approach to filmmaking through close collaboration with local communities.
The story follows a high school girl and her bond with the Onsen Shark. That very song that ultimately becomes the key to saving the world in the epic final showdown!
The previous film, “HotSpring SharkAttack / Onsen Shark,” received high acclaim at film festivals both in Japan and abroad, achieving box-office success and demonstrating the potential of independent, regional cinema.
