Just in time for the witching season, composer George Streicher returns with Music for Halloween Night, a fully orchestrated, 11-track concept album celebrating the magic, mischief, and mystery of October 31st. The album releases today, September 5, 2025, on all major streaming platforms, with a limited-edition cassette release available via @musicofthemacabre on Instagram and TikTok.
Following up on his 2022 cult favorite, Music of the Macabre, Streicher’s latest project tells the story of Halloween through music. With a runtime of 34 minutes, Music for Halloween Night blends lush orchestration, nostalgic horror influences, and charmingly creepy voiceover narration by AJ Danna to take listeners on a journey through an entire Halloween night, from trick-or-treating and séance circles to late-night horror movie marathons and the final flicker of a jack-o’-lantern’s candle.
“I grew up with those old Halloween sound effect tapes and wanted to create something that felt cinematic but still captured the childlike wonder of the season,” says Streicher. “This album is for all the eternal trick-or-treaters out there.”
Album Highlights Include:
- “Trick or Treat” – A playful, whimsical overture inspired by the classic children’s rhyme.
- “Flick or Treat” – A whirlwind tour through horror music history, shifting styles from 1930s monster scores to ‘80s synths and ‘90s thrillers.
- “The Halloween Shoppe” – A heartfelt homage to the Illinois Halloween stores of Streicher’s youth, filled with eerie nostalgia.
- “Goodnight Jack-O’-Lantern” – A final track glowing with the influence of John Debney, Danny Elfman, and James Horner.
