SXSW hit Birdeater, is set for a limited cinema and digital release from Blue Finch Film Releasing on 9 May 2025.
Birdeater is the nightmarish and hallucinatory debut from writer-directors Jack Clark and Jim Weir about a weekend of fun that descends into drug-fuelled ferocity.
Recently engaged Irene has been invited to join her fiancé, Louie, and his friends on his bachelor party at an isolated house out in the sticks.
As the festivities are plunged into drunken and substance-fuelled chaos, secrets begin to unravel, and the night soon becomes a feral nightmare.
Birdeater is an uncompromising look at how Australia’s iconic masculine identity has become incompatible with modern society. It premiered at SXSW before playing at the Sydney International Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival.
Birdeater is in UK cinemas 9 May and on digital platforms 26 May from Blue Finch Film Releasing.
