GASP! Film Festival has announced a screening of Rusty Cundieff’s classic horror anthology Tales from the Hood to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Produced by the icon that is Spike Lee, this milestone for African American horror cinema is one of the greatest and most important anthology horror films of all time.
Stories of abuse, corruption and racism towards the African-American community are given the horror film treatment, as an eccentric funeral director attempts to deter a gang of drug dealers from a life of crime.
Tales From The Hood deserves to be seen by way more people and the organisers are so proud to include it as part of this year’s stacked festival lineup.
GASP! will return to the Cultplex in Manchester for its third year on 27-29 June 2025.
The full lineup will be announced on 18 March at 7pm with general tickets going on sale on 22 March at 12pm.
GASP! has also announced a screening of the cult genre feature The People’s Joker, which will take place on 22 February 2025.
Tickets for The People’s Joker are available on the Cultplex website.
