Second crowdfunder announced for Crappy Christmas: Yuletide Suicide

Weirdoughmationfilms from Frankfurt, Germany, best known for the brightly coloured and intense hardcore claymation segment “Crappy Christmas – Operation Christmas Child” from “Deathcember” has been working on the follow-up project “Crappy Christmas – Yuletide Suicide” for some time.

After an initial crowdfunding campaign on Startnext raised enough money to shoot the film in a heavily downsized version with minimal effort, a second campaign, which will take place on KICKSTARTER from December 1st, 2024 to December 22nd, 2024, will try to raise more budget to produce the film in its original length version with more gore, action and a second supertwist.

According to director Jürgen Kling, the second attempt was also necessary because it turned out in retrospect that the Startnext platform was not well suited for projects aimed at an international audience, as it was difficult to find international supporters.

The censorship by Shout Scream Factory is also having a major impact on the production. In the USA and UK, almost no one has seen the previous film which was cut from Deathcember in these countries. Without the missing scenes and extra ending, the new project, which deals with the topics of suicide, racism and police violence, would be so dark and hopeless that it becomes almost unbearable.

This much is known about the story so far: Clay Kid suffers from severe depression; his mother fell to her death from a ladder during the pre-Christmas, voluntary church cleaning.

Now the most wonderful time of the year is approaching again and Kid is lonely and abandoned, can´t afford therapy and suffers from a world that seems to be getting crazier by the day.

When Kid can no longer bear it, he makes several unsuccessful suicide attempts, which leave a trail of destruction on him and his environment.

Finally, Kid desperately puts all his hope in a letter to Santa Claus…
