The Zombie Wedding review

By Jason Kerr

If anyone has ever got married then you will know that there can be hiccups, disagreements and unexpected surprises. Future In-laws can become outlaws, it’s a practice fraught with pitfalls. It’s safe to say that Ashley never expected her dream day to turn out like this, Zack, her groom to be, is infected by a Zombie virus. But the nuptials must go on.

Cumberland County, New Jersey is coming under attention and Zombie action is suspected. A news reporter and her assistant from Weekly World News are chasing the story until she strikes gold with the Human/Zombie getting hitched fairytale wedding scoop. Regardless of an undead groom Ashley and Zac want their big day and their parents on both sides agree to a world’s first tying the knot of a human and a zombie.

If you have ever been a wedding where the two sides are eyeing each other up for size then think one side eyeing the other up for brains as half of the wedding guests are infected undead too.Its a good job that security at the wedding is supplied by the Zombie Control Officers (ZCO’s) although that does not mean you’re in safe hands, arms, legs or anything really.

Written by Greg D’Alelssandro and Directed by Micah Khan, The Zombie Wedding sets out to be a fun film and it is fun, like any other love story there is a certain amount of cheese, it has a message, love really is stronger than death, and as weddings go there is a bit more blood and a lot more brains. I was not expecting to see Vincent Pastore (Big Pussy Bonpensiero of The Sopranos) and Micky Dolenz (erstwhile drummer of The Monkees) in this film, that was a nice surprise. Go get your invite to the wedding of the year and enjoy this movie.

The Zombie Wedding is available now on Cable and Digital VOD, including Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, Fandango At Home, Comcast, Dish, and DirecTV.
