First Look revealed for screen life horror “We Put the World to Sleep”

Adrian Țofei and Duru Yücel’s highly anticipated apocalyptic screenlife feature film “We Put the World to Sleep” is nearing the end of post-production, and a first look tantalizing teaser clip titled ‘Murder in the Air‘ has been released.
This movie marks the second entry in a trilogy that began with Adrian Țofei’s cult horror feature “Be My Cat: A Film for Anne.” The trilogy’s concluding installment, “Pure,” is currently in development. While each film in the trilogy stands out with its unique style and substance, they collectively form a cohesive universe.

“We Put the World to Sleep” was filmed over five years across 13 locations in Romania, Turkey, and Ukraine. The project boasts a diverse international cast, including Black American, Latin American, East European, and Turkish actors, four of the five main cast members being female. The movie addresses pressing global issues and is described as the most ambitious, challenging, and disturbing project Adrian and Duru have undertaken. They also star in the film as the fictional characters “Adrian” and “Duru” (no similarities to their real-life personas), who embark on a secret mission to end the world.

The movie aims to blend the metaphysical depth of “2001: A Space Odyssey” with the stark realism of “The Blair Witch Project,” both significant influences on Adrian’s filmmaking style. Divided into two distinct chapters, the film offers a dual-feature screenlife experience, with the second chapter connecting to American serial killer Richard Ramirez, also known as ‘The Night Stalker’.

A festival premiere is soon expected, and everyone is invited to join the campaign to complete the final cut and support its festival run. Contributors receive official Producer and Thanks credits on screen, as well as on IMDb and Letterboxd.
