Crowdfunder launched for indie horror Periphery

Writer/Director Jacob Perrett has launched a crowdfunding campaign for his new indie horror Periphery.

Jen has been a photographer her entire life. When it comes time for her to choose a job, forensic photography seems like the most practical decision.

Jen’s mind eventually turns sour after seeing one horrific sight after another. Desperate to maintain a living off of photography, but struggling to stay afloat financially, Jen develops a relationship with a wealthy married couple. Their first request is a maternity shoot.

After this, the requests become…much more disturbing. How far will Jen go to live the life of her dreams?

The project is set at flexible funding, so any amount of donation is accepted. The campaign will be live until Sunday, June 30th. Backers are offered a wide array of perks to choose from when donating, ranging from, but not limited to, the following:

  • Signed Periphery Poster
  • Periphery Blu-Ray
  • Official Periphery Ball Cap
  • Name a Character After You

Should backers be interested, Perrett is offering various Producer positions for individuals giving a minimum of $250, all the way to $1,000.

Jacob Perrett commented,

“Being an artist of any type is difficult. I’ve found that as time has gone on, I’ve become much more complacent in taking film or video jobs that I have no interest in, solely for the fact that they will mean a paycheck. This is not unique to my type of work. Illustrators, writers, actors, musicians, constantly have to compromise their creativity for the sake of money. This notion has made me sick with the entertainment industry. Periphery is my response to that sickness.”
