This sci fi short packs a lot into its 7 minute running time. A couple (Natalie Polliso and Robin Zamora) are driving across country in the US, when they see a series of what look like meteorites fall from the sky in the distance.
When the husband leaves the vehicle to investigate, his wife goes missing. But in reality, as the title suggests, they’ve been ‘bisected’ and occupy two different worlds, at the same time. What happens next inevitably leads to tragedy.
This is a setup worthy of a Moorhead and Benson film; it’s beautifully realised, intriguing and ultimately horrifying. Seasoned shorts director Danny Pineros knows exactly what he’s doing here, demonstrating that, in the right hands, short films can be just as powerful as full features.
