Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison review

Author Rachel Harrison is back and she has a bit of devil in her, for Black Sheep.

Her latest novel follows Vesper, who is returning to her small hometown after many years away. She has lived in her mother’s shadows for years, as she is the star of a bunch of low-budget slasher films.

Right from the off Harrison creates a degree of curiosity as we wonder what the twist will be, but once the story flips Black Sheep becomes a completely different story.

Admittedly, I did find the first part of the story more intriguing, although Vesper’s complex relationship with her parents makes for an interesting read.

Black Sheep is quite a brisk read, with Harrison showing she can keep readers intrigued while trying something different with the story.

I feel like this is a story you will either really dig or not.

Black Sheep could be a marmite read.

Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison is available now from Titan Books.
