I’m sure in a review I did last year I said it’s never good news to pick up a hitchhiker or someone in the middle of the road in a horror or genre film; it usually doesn’t end well.
Alas, this is the opening of Rob Boyd’s short Death Drive.
The young woman our driver picks up goads him go faster and faster, taking on scenarios which could lead to a fatality.
Sadly, the CGI and telegraphed plot make this short one to forget as you can telegraph all of the beats which makes for a dull viewing experience.
Death Drive screens as part of Giallo Film Festival 2024.
