Arrow announces J-Horror chiller and a Fulci undead classic on 4K

In March Arrow Video releases the highly atmospheric and critically acclaimed Dark Water.

After terrifying audiences worldwide with the blockbuster J-Horror classic Ring and its sequel, director Hideo Nakata returned to the genre with this tale of the supernatural which took ghostly horror to new heights of suspense and drama.

Based on a short story by Ring author Koji Suzuki, Dark Water is beautifully shot by cinematographer Junichiro Hayashi (Ring, Pulse), and features an especially unnerving sound design. Successfully merging spine-tingling tension with a family’s heart-wrenching emotional struggle, it is one of the very finest and most unsettling contemporary Japanese horror films.

The release includes interviews with the director, the author of the book, the cinematographer and actors, a ‘making-of’ documentary, and comes with a reversible sleeve and collector’s booklet. It is available on Limited Edition 4K UHD, as well as a Limited Edition 4K UHD Arrow Store exclusive.

Also in March, from the Italian godfather of gore, Lucio Fulci, comes City of the Living Dead on Limited Edition 4K UHD – a notoriously nauseating, compellingly corporeal masterpiece of apocalyptic zombie horror! Starring Christopher George (The Exterminator, Pieces) and Catriona MacColl (The House by the Cemetery, The Beyond) , the film goes beyond the classical stylings of Fulci’s horror hit Zombie Flesh Eaters, with delirious visuals, surrealism and atmosphere – as well as bucket-loads of brains, blood and guts!

Arrow presents it here in a 4K restoration with a wealth of extras, including commentaries, interviews and video essays, as well as a reversible sleeve, a double-sided fold-out poster, six lobby cards and a limited edition 60-page booklet.
