I have always wondered about the phenomenon of people hearing voices.
In some cases, it points towards a mental illness and others towards something entirely supernatural.
In Ryan Valdez’s short we follow a young man who meets with his psychiatrist to try and figure out why he is hearing the voices.
They look to carry out an experiment, looking for answers but maybe not the ones either wants.
Make It Stop shows it can often be scarier to hear someone describing something than seeing it; this is the power of dialogue delivered in an unnerving way.
Valdez builds up to a horrific finale, which fully delivers on its promise.
Make It Stop screens as part of Soho Horror Film Festival 2023.
