As someone who isn’t into camping in any guise, I can’t imagine what would be the best camping trip ever.
We open this animated short Night Drives: Campfire in the Sky, with Ajahnis and his colleague Mr. Sandiford quizzing another worker Alex about their own camping experience over the weekend – and they get a story they weren’t counting on.
Camping is played out like some sort of sexual experience as the trio discuss, but Alex’s experiences has more in common with an alien abduction.
This micro short is more a black comedy, playing Alex’s tale as possibly the most extreme camping experience. Let’s just say if you have a camping experience like Alex, you are probably doing it wrong.
Night Drives: Campfire in the Sky screens as part of Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2023.
