Bye Bye (Toronto After Dark Film Fest) review

Train stations can be creepy places, especially at night.

Anyone who is waiting for a train late at night on a seemingly deserted platform, myself included, can often get the feeling of being watched.

At the start of Freddy Chavez Olmos’ short Bye Bye, we are warned of a lady figure who has been seen across multiple countries and taking different names, who haunts visitors.

This short opens with two women waiting for the 3 a.m. train when one hears a chilling whisper in her ear. A quick and effective gut punch, Bye Bye arks on the urban legend of the Lady in Red, and succeeds in continuing to make train stations creepy.

Bye Bye screens as part of Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2023.
