Vestige review

Beaches are always fascinating spaces.

The point at which the ocean world connects with land is often the sight of some fantastic discoveries, of species long left behind.

Caves in beaches, with the right tone are also extremely creepy settings for horror films. And so, we come to brand new UK short Vestige which sees a teenage boy exploring a cave on a desolate beach in search of fossils.

He is instructed to find a particular type of rock with some familiar content to readers of a certain fantasy horror writer…

Vestige is a slow burn of teenage overindulgence that could lead to deadly consequences. It carries a real atmosphere which builds up to a haunting finale.

Look out for Vestige at film festivals across the world soon.
