European premiere for New Life at Frightfest

On the heels of a breakout performance and sold-out world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival, NEW LIFE heads to FrightFest to share its stunningly tense and dramatic horror-thriller with European audiences.

Ahead of the European Premiere on August 25, a new poster designed by internationally acclaimed Cardiff-based artist Matt Needle has been unveiled exclusively to promote the FrightFest launch.

Dubbed “one of the major discoveries of Fantasia 2023,” the film is written and directed by John Rosman, making his feature directorial debut, and produced by T. Justin Ross, producer on Shudder’s record-breaking hit The Mortuary Collection and the Judy Greer-led Aporia, and Mike Marchlewski.

The film is executive produced by David Lawson Jr., producer of the Independent Spirit-Award Nominated Sundance darling Something in the Dirt and the critically acclaimed science fiction horror The Endless, among others.

NEW LIFE stars Sonya Walger (For All Mankind, Lost), Hayley Erin (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), and Tony Amendola (Annabelle, Curse of Llorona). The film centers on a deadly cat-and-mouse chase across the Pacific Northwest between a mysterious woman on the run (Erin) and the resourceful government ‘fixer’ (Walger) assigned to bring her in while fighting her body’s own personal struggle with ALS. As their two unique stories inextricably link, and a trail of bodies begin to mount, the stakes of the pursuit soon rise to apocalyptic proportions.

Artist Matt Needle explores the tense chase and character elements of the film with a stark, minimal vision of a woman on the run, but trapped in a pill which she cannot escape.

“Matt is a phenomenal artist. He has an innate ability to transform massive themes in a story into elegant, thought-provoking designs. He does just this with his new work, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have it represent our film at FrightFest,” says Rosman on the design.
